Review: Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation

Thursday, January 28, 2010

I bought this foundation nearly two weeks ago now and I have used it quite a few times. Here's my review of it :)

The shade I purchased was 'Creamy Ivory'.

The Product:

What is it?

This is a cream foundation with a silky/creamy texture.

How do I use it?

You can use a sponge, a brush or your fingers to apply it. The product as you can see, comes with a sponge inside the case:

How much does it cost?

A little pricey at £11.99 from Superdrug though in comparison to high end department store foundations like MAC, that price is pretty damn good. (Most high end foundations set you back at least £19 upward.
) I believe both Boots and Superdrug offer a free Max Factor concealer when you purchase any Max Factor foundation too so score :D (The concealer is actually pretty good too.)

What is the coverage like?

I have a fair complexion with a little redness in my cheeks. I found this covered my redness very well and it made my skin tone look fresh, picture perfect and really even. The foundation itself claims to offer medium to heavy coverage. I think it is definitely true to its word. (This coming from somebody who is very accustomed to using high end foundation!) I am in love with the coverage of this. The formula is also like a dream. It's creamy and glides on like butter! It's perfect, even when you have a cluster of bumps on your face like me, it will still smooth over them nicely.

What's the staying power like?

Great! It lasted me all day! I do have patches on my face that get both dry and oily and I can say it worked very well for both areas of my face.

Any scent?

No, none at all.

What about the packaging?

I actually had some issues trying to open the bottom compartment to retrieve the sponge as I couldn't find the ridge that allows you to open the case. The packaging is split into two parts. The top part is a glass round jar that contains the foundation itself and you twist this to open it. The bottom is a shiny black plastic case that you flip open to retrieve/store the sponge. This is good because it prevents your sponge from spreading grot onto your foundation but can also be viewed as a hassle since you have to put the packaging back together to store it which means attaching the glass part to the plastic part. I wasn't particularly bothered by this personally though.

Another January Haul

Hi all,

Sorry I have been MIA, I am currently working through some personal problems as things have gone from bad to worse so please try to bear with me during this time. My updates may be far and few between.

Here's a haul of some stuff I recently bought in the meantime. Hope you enjoy.

MAC Mono Shadows (All shades stated in each picture. Swatches below)

(Swatches)

MAC Blot Powder in 'Medium' (Comes with sponge shown in photo)

Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation in 'Light Porcelain' (Comes with sponge shown in second photo)

First New Year Haul :)

Friday, January 15, 2010
I went shopping today and stopped by Superdrug. Max Factor are currently offering a free concealer (their own brand of course) when you buy any of their foundations. I apologise for the lighting in some of these. I am currently in pain and I didn't have much strength to sit up to take more photos. Sorry :(

Anyway, I am completely in love with Max Factor's Second Skin foundation but I'll save that for another review entry. I think I am in love with another now too! Okay I'll show you what I got...

Miracle Touch Foundation in 'Creamy Ivory' - I have already worn this once and it is so creamy! From what I experienced with it first time it blends like a dream and the coverage is gorgeous! I think this actually beats some of my MAC foundations! (By miles too!)

Price: £11

(Close Up)

And my free concealer in 'Ivory' (Number 303). Surprisingly their 'Fair' shade was much too orangey for me when I swatched it. - Again, I have worn this once. It's also very nice so far.

Price: £6 (But I got it for free with the foundation)

I also feel I should let you know that GOSH have selected items at half price. Only the products with yellow stickers on are half price.

GOSH Lipgloss in '0010' - A pale sheer pink.

Price: Will update this part when I find out!

And this lovely eyeshadow quad in 'Gold Finger' (Number 23)

Price: £8.50 (I got it for £3.25!)

December Mini Haul

Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Hi everyone. Hope you had a nice new year :)

I bought some stuff from MAC online (
Here) with some christmas gift money and wanted to share. I got the 15 pan pro palette and bought separate pan eye shadows to go in it (you can find these under the 'eyes' section of the website right next to where you find the normal eye shadows) Just incase you didn't know - the pan eye shadows are eye shadows that come in a little metal pan with no case around it. They fit into the palette like so:

TOP ROW: 'Purple Haze', 'Humid' and 'Retrospeck' MIDDLE ROW: 'Plum Dressing' and 'Steamy'

Also got two lipsticks.
'Pink Nouveau'

'St Germain'

Swatches:

That's all I have. I know it's a very tiny haul, lol. One thing I wanted to buy was the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation. I have the SS concealer and I adore it but was wondering what the foundation is like? I like my foundation formula to be fairly thick so it covers spots/redness but not oily/greasy and when I swatched this I was under the impression it might make me shiny.

Has anyone tried it? How did you get on with it?
